| Cricket is a universal game and is
played in various countries and places from Japan to Canada
and Norway to South Africa. With the internet and digital TV
available widely, it's been watched now more than ever before.
Originally started in England, cricket is played throughout
Europe and the rest of the world. In Latvia, it is being
played regularly since 1998. Latvian Cricket Club was
officially formed by some cricket enthusiasts of Indian origin
in 2001.
Membership of the Latvian
Cricket Club is opened to anyone who is a cricket enthusiast
or someone who is just interested in the game and want to
learn what this game is all about. You are very welcome to
join us for the outdoor games as well as the indoor games
played throughout the year in Riga. We'd be more than happy to learn from
local people who are interested to know more about this game
as for the proper development of the game, it is necessary to
have the interest of the local population.
Even though most of our club members are busy working or
studying here, we at Latvian Cricket Club are continuously
trying to visit local schools and regions where there is an
interest in this game. Our mission is to bring this game to
the grass root level, the schools and make it popular in kids
who will then go on to become professional cricketers in
Latvia.

of the game now officially played in the region on a regular
basis according to the rules set by the cricket's governing
body the International Cricket Council (ICC). We practice and
play friendly matches every Saturday & Sunday; outdoor
(summer) and Indoor (winter).
Latvian Cricket Club is looking for

this game requires serious attention in order to reach the
level to get participation on a regular basis at the
European Level. You can do it in several ways like sponsoring
kit for the game, playing field, sponsoring players clothing,
foreign tours etc.
